Depot Days and Classic Car Show

 

What started as a day of the excitement of watching the Northern Pacific Railroad Depot being moved in 1986, this festival has grown to an all-day extravaganza. Visitors can stroll among over 300 Classic Cars throughout the Historic Downtown area. Meet the owners and maybe even buy the car of your dreams! Included in the festivities are craft and food vendors, activities for kids, and live entertainment on the Gazebo.
Depot Foundation event runs the Saturday before Mother’s Day.

Gyro Days and Lead Creek Derby

 

A long-standing tradition, this event involves a family carnival on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Time chances are sold in anticipation of the giant “beach” ball reaching its destination. Visitors can watch the ball’s progress as it tumbles along the clear water of the South Fork of the Coeur d'Alene River between Mullan and Wallace. Gyro event runs the third weekend of June. High Mountain ATV Jamboree

Family fun is in store for you during this six day event. Enjoy our beautiful scenery during the hosted trail rides. Participate in the ATV Rodeo, parade complete with prizes, and other fun events. The festival ends with the Awards Ceremony and Steak-Fry dinner. All activities are designed to include all ages and abilities for your family’s enjoyment. The High Mountain ATV Club hosts the event. Huckleberry/Heritage Festival & 5K Fun Run

August 20th & 21st - Wallace, ID


Huckleberry Sheriff and Huckleberry Hound will reign during this exciting two-day event. Activities start at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 20th. Shop the unique items our hand-crafted vendors on the lawn of the Northern Pacific Depot Museum.  Enjoy great food from a variety of food from vendors and local restaurants.  There will be several bands playing Live Music at the Gazebo both days. Savor each mouth-watering bite of Huckleberry Pancakes Breakfast sponsored by the Rotary Club from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Wallace Jr/Sr High. Feel the exhilaration of competitors getting ready for the 5K Run, which starts Saturday at 9:00 AM with registration at 7:30 AM at the Civic Auditorium. For the kids, there are great activities, like an inflatable jumping castle, mini golf, bean bag toss, basketball press and more.  Don't forget the Huckleberry Bake-Off, as contestants vie for the top prize as they "whip up" special Huckleberry creations.

Be a part of history, as the 1910 Fire Commemoration brings honor to the Fire Fighters who lost their lives in this historical event.

The "Trailing the 1910 Fire Trolley" from the Sierra Silver Mine Tour.  Characters of firefighters and townsfolk share stories of Wallace's peril as the largest wildfire roared into this small mountain town.  Every Wednesday through Saturday 2:00 PM, 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM.

"Ghost Town Trolley" from Sierra Silver Mine Tour.  May Arkwright Hutton shares her rags to riches story on the way to the ghost town of Burke, Idaho.  See and learn the sites of the 1890's Mining Wars.  Every Wednesday through Saturday 11:00 AM, 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM.

Guided Hikes at The Pulaski Trail.  Every Saturday at 10:00 Am.  Sunday at 1:00 PM.

The "Voices of the Big Burn" at the 6th Street Melodrama is an historical presentation about the 1910 Fire.  Every Sunday, Monday and Tuesday at 7:00 PM.

Thursday August 19th is an evening with Stephen Pyne-author.  Talking about the significance of the big burn and the lasting impacts of this fire at Wallace Elks at 7:00 PM.

Friday August 20th is the dedication of the Mass Grave Site at Nine Mile Cemetery.  Documentary Premier by George Sibley at Wallace Elks at 7:00 PM.

Saturday August 21st, the First Annual Dobson Pass Hill Climb is not for the faint of heart.  This challenging course will see road riders battle the formidable steeps of Dobson pass.  Watch as they battle for cash prizes to category winners.  This is a must see event.  This is a must see event.

Saturday, August 21st - Procession through downtown Wallace to the Visitors Center.  Dedication of the Firefighter & 1910 Memorial.  Wallace Visitors Center at 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Timothy Egan, Keynote Speaker at Wallace Elks at 7:00pm
